Business Development Manager
This job has responsibility for the development of new relationships with potential clients, nurturing those with existing clients, understanding their requirements in relation to Metabolism services and carrying out all activities required to ensure a pipeline of orders and client base in line with agreed overall business and personal targets.
The Business Development Manager needs to demonstrate an in depth understanding of non-radiolabelled metabolism studies, in particular In Vitro services and the full range of drug-drug interactions (DDIs) including Transporters enabling them to sell the services and prepare proposals with input from relevant operational colleagues.
The Business Development Manager is expected to be proficient in all aspects of the business development process and deal with all queries quickly, efficiently and accurately.
The seniority and purpose of this role means that the job holder has a special privilege and responsibility to act as an ambassador for the Metabolism divison and the broader organisation.
A relationship builder with strong interpersonal skills and cultural awareness able to relate to all people at all levels (colleagues, peers, superiors and people of all levels of seniority within external organisations).
In addition, the job holder must:
Demonstrate an understanding of GLP and GCP and how it applies to contractual processes in particular.
New business development:
Vigorously seek new business development opportunities with a keen focus on developing relationships with, and winning new clients in target regions and service areas,Managing commercial processes:
Work closely with operational and other business development colleagues to lead all commercial activities and processes required to maximise business opportunities with your new potential and existing clients. Administer Sponsor orders and accurately communicate all relevant information with Operational colleagues. If required, assist BD colleagues in the preparation of hand over documents.
Service Area Specialist - In Vitro Services:
Work closely with key operational and other business development colleagues to develop and implement appropriate operational, marketing and sales strategies that maximise our competitive positioning and ability to grow profitable business. In particular:
Carry out all required market research activities to develop a strong understanding of the market for the service area and business development opportunities
Keep upto date with the FDA and EMA Regulatory Guidelines for In Vitro Services
Foster strong bond with operational colleagues in this service area to ensure mutual involvement in new business development activities
