Quality Manager (Metals)

Quality Manager


To develop and manage all aspects of a comprehensive quality assurance for the business. Maintaining the highest standard through robust policies and procedures. Working with all managers to ensure a Quality-focused culture, effective in driving improved performance and customer satisfaction, is delivered through day to day practices.


Technical Duties

To ensure all elements of the quality management system are current and effective including:

Maintaining all quality documentation in line with current requirements including SOPs / WIs and the Quality Manual on the document library.

Incorporating quality information into the visual management system to promote standard work and compliance to quality requirements.

Ensuring robust corrective actions are identified and implemented in response to customer complaints and internal non-conformances.

Ensuring both internal and external audits are completed effectively in line with ISO9001 requirements.


To ensure that quality system requirements are communicated effectively to all departments including shop floor personnel. It is envisaged that a substantial proportion of time will be spent on the shop floor.

To promote the importance of improving our cost of quality performance throughout the company.

To provide regular feedback to the workforce on performance and issues relating
to quality.

Quality Standards

Comply with internal quality control and external quality assurance procedures.

Attain and maintain compliance with ISO 9001 standards.

Support NADCAP audit programme.

Service management

The post holder must comply with all company policies and procedures.

The post holder is expected to perform any other duties within their capacity which are considered appropriate by more senior staff.


The post holder must gain a thorough understanding of the company processes,
constraints and capabilities.

The post holder will;
- be expected to work in any area relating to quality at the company

- demonstrate clear understanding and drive regarding customer service and delivery
- have excellent literacy and numeracy skills
- have the ability to react to unpredictable situations in a professional organised manner
- have the ability to deal with complex problems at short notice
- have excellent people management and communication skills

Additional hours will be required on an ongoing basis in order to complete all duties.

Salary : 35k to 42k pa + BONUS
