Senior Category Manager

An award winning business with a global presence is offering an exciting opportunity for 2 Interim Senior Category Managers to join the team and manage contracts for indirect and Outsourced services primarily throughout the UK.

This business has a first class culture with high achievers supported by a backbone of continuous training and development. The business develops close relationships with local communities and regularly sponsors charitable events.

This is a highly strategic position where you will be exposed to all levels within the business. This position has a heavy emphasis on the contracting side of procurement so you will need to have strong experience in this area. Contract values start from 50k and can rise up to 8m. You may be negotiating / re-writing between 20-40 contracts in your portfolio at any one particular moment in time

Contract management is geared towards risk management rather than cost savings.

THE ROLE AND YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:
Observing the team stakeholder management plans created by the UK Procurement lead for such category, develop and maintain strong and effective internal relationships.
Manage or facilitate the sourcing, selection and associated decision making related to third party supply of goods and services
Ensure the optimum service delivery from external suppliers
Achieve cost effective procurement
Complying with the Terms of Engagement between Procurement and Legal
Negotiate and draft contracts that enable the provision of goods and services
Produce high quality contractual documentation
Manage third party risk
Build and maintain strong and effective external relationships with suppliers as appropriate
Contribute towards the UK and "global" Procurement department goals

CREDENTIALS
Indirect Service Category knowledge
Excellent Knowledge of sourcing / contracting process and procedures
Effective communication including Good negotiation skills
Influencing to senior management level
Building relationships (internal and external)
