This leading manufacturer of quality electronic equipment are seeking an experienced Embedded Software Engineer / Firmware Engineer with strong low level C/C++, Assembler development skills and experience of 8 or 16 bit micros and 32 bit micros. You will work on innovative Development projects associated with sensors, detectors, video, acoustic and control systems.
As an Embedded Software Engineer / Firmware Engineer, you will have over 3 years experience working down to register level on any low end microcontroller, have experience with In Circuit Emulation and debug monitors/simulators - Lauterbach, JTAG, GDB debugger etc and familiarity with oscilloscopes and test equipment. You will also have a good understanding of electronics, digital and analogue inputs and Hardware. Candidates should have full Software Product Lifecycle experience developing Products from concept to Production in a multidisciplined R&D environment.
You will have proven ability to program in C and Assembler and have experience of 8/16/32 bit microcontrollers. You must have proven experience in writing complex C code in an embedded environment. Ideally, you will also have experience of Electronic Design / Embedded Software Development for high volume manufacture or design for large production runs / small footprint products.
As a Software Design Engineer you may have come from a Control Systems background with experience of Data Communication protocols or Control Networks, RS485, RS232, UART, I2C, SPI, PIC, MPLAB, EEPROM, ADC, DAC, Ethernet, DSP, GPRS, design for EMC compliance.
Experience in some or all of the disciplines below is desirable:
- Experience of source code control systems
- Understanding of serial communications
- Experience with microchips/8051/Cortex M0
- Real Time Operating Systems (RTOS)
- C++, MFC, C# and .NET
- TCP and UDP communications
